Three things matter when choosing a menu: how much food per person, how it is served and your guests' dietary needs. The kitchen facilities beside the 144 m² hall also accept catering from outside our offer. Below we explain how to work out portions for 69 people and when finger food beats a plated course.

How much food per person

Better with a small margin than cutting it close. For a several-hour party plan cold snacks, one or two hot dishes and something sweet. For longer events, add a second round of food later in the evening.

Finger food or a plated dish

  • Finger food and buffet - a relaxed vibe, guests help themselves whenever they like, easy for chatting and dancing.
  • Plated service - more elegant, great for formal dinners and corporate events.

For 18ths and birthdays a buffet usually works best; for training - coffee breaks plus lunch.

Remember options for everyone

Vegans, vegetarians, allergies and gluten-free - ask guests in advance and pass the numbers to the caterer. A few meat-free items are standard today, not an extra.

Drinks and service

Decide whether you need waiting staff, a bar and who provides the drinks. Professional service takes the logistics off your hands during the event - you can be a guest at your own party.

The easiest option: catering and venue in one place

When you arrange catering together with the venue booking, you have one contact and the confidence that facilities, delivery and service are in sync. At BRDA 144 we have our own catering - we'll match the menu to the occasion and budget. Ask about catering when you book your date.

Portions per person in numbers

The starting point is the time of day and the length of the event. The quantities below are the orientation we begin the menu conversation from.

FormatRoughly per personWhen it works
Coffee break3 to 4 itemstraining, company meetings
Finger food buffet8 to 12 pieceshen parties, team events
Seated lunch or dinnerstarter, main, dessertweddings, christenings, anniversaries

Choosing between finger food and a plated course

How the food is served decides how guests behave. A plated course keeps everyone at the tables for longer. Finger food keeps people moving and mixes the room, but it needs more standing space.

With 69 seats both formats work. For a larger group, where some guests will be standing anyway, a buffet is the natural choice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can we bring our own caterer?

Yes. The kitchen facilities beside the hall also accept catering from outside our offer. It is worth flagging at booking so we can agree an arrival time and preparation space.

How do I work out portions for 69 people?

Start from the format, not the headcount. A finger food buffet for 69 comes out at roughly 550 to 800 pieces; a seated dinner is counted in full place settings instead.

What about dietary requirements and allergies?

Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free portions are available if you flag them while the menu is being set. The earlier the better, as some items have to be ordered separately.
